Elf on the Shelf

We've had a little elf land in our house this Christmas season. Every morning he's hiding in a different spot after he reports to Santa to watch who's being good or not. The kids love to search for him when they wake up and see where he's landed today. It's nice to have a helper to make sure they are behaving!

Lyla 4 month heart check-up

Lyla got a golden star at her four month post-surgery heart check-up last week. Her chest x-ray was clear, her ekg was perfect and everything else looked great so we got rid of a couple of more medications, no more waking up every night at midnight to give her medication, and no more oxygen at night. Yahoo!

Lyla and one of her cardiologists Dr. Su. We're so grateful that they take such great care of her heart!

These were all her medications we started with after surgery. We're now down to only two and no oxygen. Amazing!

We started rice cereal and she's doing great. She's catching on pretty well and now will actually eat it instead of just leave it sitting in her cheeks.

I have three little helpers that like to feed her too!

We've been working for a few months now to get her to sit in the Bumbo without tipping over to the side or front and she can finally do it now. She's doing awesome! It's so exciting to see her be able to catch on to something new!

Christmas Sugar Cookies

Usually on Wednesday mornings we go to the library for storytime and to play after but since there in no library until January we had to come up with our own activity so we decided to decorate Christmas sugar cookies! Thanks to aunt Katherine who made the dough and frosting and brought all the decorating items over the kids had a great time decoarting and eating the cookies!

Festival of Trees

Ava's favorite was a gingerbread house with LaLaLoopsy dolls.

The boys favorite was a firefighter tree with little fireman boots and big red firetrucks on it.

Letters to Santa

We wrote letters to Santa which was supposed to be a fun activity but the boys argued and screamed the whole time over who got what paper and which color pen and who wrote on theirs first and they couldn't have the same items on each one, etc. etc. etc. Oh well, they all got delivered outside to the mailbox by Ava so I'm sure they'll arive at the North Pole, and I hope Santa's watching!

Helicopter Santa

The boys are obsessed with helicopters, especially the lifeflight helicopter at the hospital. We have to drive by it nearly every day to see if it's taking off. Crew says when he's older he's going to "flew the big red helicopter" so we took them to see Santa arrive in the helicopter the day after Thanksgiving. They were in heaven. It was the greatest day for them, they were fascinated!

Papa had to literally hold Crew against him because of the wind when it was landing, they almost got blown away and frozen.

Crew and Lyla were the only ones we could get to come near Santa. Ava and Griffin looked at him from well past outside the gate.

cousin Samson and Lyla, they looked thrilled.

Decorating for the Holidays

The kids couldn't wait to decorate their trees so we got them out and ready to go!

We keep finding Lyla all the way underneath our big Christmas tree. She's so curious about the lights, she rolls herself over to it until she's all the way under.

Crew's tree is a little over-loaded. No surprise!
